I had low expectations of the show before it started, thinking it would be subpar while I studied the unexpectedly small stage in the warmth of my comfortable seat. As the lights of the room dimmed and the actors settled in their positions, I wasn’t prepared for what awaited.
The theatrical masterpiece I witnessed was like none other I’ve experienced before.

I haven’t been to many theatrical performances throughout my 17 years of life, just a handful of school plays and a couple of ballet performances, but the performance I witnessed on the night of February 2nd, 2025 was something special. It felt like I was inside a movie, like the next step forward from experiencing a 4D film. The actors were excellent, their emotions and passion immersed me in the play, like I was in a trance that glued my eyes to the performances. Before I knew it, the show sadly ended quicker than it should’ve felt because of my enjoyment.
Overall, the performances from everyone, Jonathan Beebe, Kate Jergensen, Natasha Sahs, Devon Lawler, and Harry Cooke, were excellent and changed my perspective of what an excellent theatrical performance looks like. Because of this event, I discovered a newfound interest in old-school theatrical performances and can’t wait to experience more in the future. I strongly recommend that everyone takes the time out of their day to grab tickets for future performances hosted at the American Theatre of Actors, at 314 West 54th Street, and check out any upcoming performances these actors might perform at in the future.
